3 relatives quizzed in Astarang quadruple murder

PNS

Zeroing in on close relatives to solve the quadruple murder mystery of Astarang in Puri district, Crime Branch sleuths intensively quizzed three members of an extended family of deceased Dinabandhu Mallick at the police headquarters here on Friday.

Dinabandhu, a retired DI of Schools, his wife Narmada and their two minor girls were found dead with their throats slit on Tuesdaynight in their home at Astaranga. Narmada had married 12 years ago to Dinabandhu after his first wife, having three daughters, died. All the three daughters from Dinabandhu’s first wife are married.

But suspecting a property dispute to be the motive behind the gruesome murders, the investigating sleuths summoned Dinabandhu’s younger brother Krupasindhu and his two sons to the police headquarters and interrogated them separately throughout the day.
