Dulesh Chandra Jaipuria, his wife and their 5-year-old child of Jharmal village of laikera police station in Jharsuguda district were found dead in Royal lodge near Budravalsa in Rayagada town here on Sunday.

The family had been to the town here to see Bahuda Yatra and was staying in room (1) of the lodge. After taking dinner, they locked themselves in the room and did not open the door next morning when the sweeper knocked the door to clean the room. Suspecting some mishap, he informed the manager of the lodge. When the manager too found no response from the occupants of the room after knocking it several times, he called the police. The police broke open the door and found the trio was lying dead.

According to Rayagada police station IIC Tapan Kumar Mohanty, the deceased might have committed suicide after consuming food mixed with poison. However, an inquiry is still on and the reason behind the death can be ascertained after the post-mortem, he asserted.

It is to be noted that Dulesh is in the most wanted list of Jharsuguda police. Though he belonged to Jharpmal village, he had been staying in Odiapalli village since long. He was arrested after raping a girl in that area in 2011. He had got conditional bail for one month while in jail in 2012. Since then he was absconding, said Jharsuguda police. In 2012, Dulesh had started extorting money by terrorizing local people and the Jharsuguda police were searching for him.
