In a shocking incident, three newborn babies died while undergoing treatment at the Nabarangpur District Headquarters Hospital here in successive intervals.
According to sources, son of Tulamu Mallick, a resident of Goudadeopalli village under Tentulikhunti block, was admitted to the Government-run hospital on April 3. But the baby died at the hospital.
Similarly, daughter of Tamali Majhi of Icchapur village and son of Champada Harijan of Anala village died just a day after they were admitted to the hospital, the sources added.
Refuting allegations that the babies died because of medical negligence, a hospital official said the infants were admitted to the hospital in very serious conditions.
