At least three firemen were injured when a fire tender overturned at the Fire Fighter Training Centre at the Fire Station Square here on Monday. All the injured were shifted to the Capital Hospital. Their conditions are stated to be stable.
Sources said that while imparting training, a Bronto Sky lift (BSl) fire tender developed a technical snag and collapsed on the ground within seconds. Three firemen who were inside the hydraulic platform-equipped firefighter received injuries.
The mishap took place at around 1 pm, sources added.
The Rs 8 crore fire tender procured from Finland, which can be used to douse flames up to 72 metres high was inducted into the fleet a few months ago.
Currently, there are two such fire tenders in operational stage in Bhubaneswar which can douse fire up to 55 metres, sources added.
