With 271 new Covid-19 positive cases getting detected on Monday, the total cases in Bhubaneswar rose to 24,735, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) said. Of the new cases, 203 were local contacts and 68 quarantine cases.
The local contacts included 10 cases from Rasulgarh, nine each from Baramunda and IRC Village, eight from Nayapalli, seven from Patrapada, six each from Mancheswar, Old Town, Sundarpada, Khandagiri and Patia, five from Chakeisiani and four each from VSS Nagar, Niladri Vihar, Laxmisagar, Budheswari Colony and Bomikhal,The quarantine cases included eight from VSS Nagar, four from Chandrasekharpur, four from Patia, four from Gouri Nagar and three from IRC Village.Meanwhile, two more persons succumbed to the disease on the day, pushing the city’s total toll to 119.Bhubaneswar also registered 313 recoveries on the day, taking the total recoveries to 22,210.Meanwhile, Cuttack city registered 74 new cases on the day, taking the total to 13,542.
Out of the new cases, 39 were local contacts and 19 home quarantine and 16 institutional quarantine cases.
