Excise officials on Thursday seized 27 kg of ganja from a car in Kandhamal district and arrested a youth for the illegal peddling of marijuana.
The accused was identified as Chandan Digal, a resident of Phulbani town.
According to reports, the youth was travelling from Phiringia to Nayagarh district carrying the contraband in the car.
Acting on a tipoff, the excise officials frisked all vehicles at Pabingia village square to nab the accused.
During the frisking drive, the officials seized the ganja from the youth’s car.
