26 US dollars found in Shreemandir Hundi

PNS

The Jaganath Temple received 26 US dollar on Wednesday into its Hundi as donation. Since entry of foreigner is restricted into the shrine premises, so it is suspected that some non-resident Indian (NRI) Hindus might have dropped into the Hundi installed in the front hall of main temple.

“It is not first time that temple administration received Dollar from the Hundi. Even many times the currencies of Nepal and all other countries have been found from the Hundi in the past,” said PRO of Shree Jaganath Temple Administration (SJTA) LN Pujapanda, adding that those are immediately deposited in bank after counting.

Notably, the SJTA officials used to collect donations in shape of cash, gold, silver, diamond and other valuables from Hundi on a daily basis. They deposit them in the bank after counting under CCTV surveillance. Besides many donation boxes in the shrine premises, a Hundi has been installed in front hall of the sanctum sanctorum for devotees to drop their donation.
