Man, daughter electrocuted in Bargarh
Bargarh: A man and his daughter were electrocuted after coming in contact with an earthing point at lastala village under the Attabira police limits in Bargarh district early on Friday morning. They were identified as Harishankar Nayak (75) and Prabhati. Nayak came in touch with the charged earthing point when he came outside his house. His daughter also died of electric shock while trying to rescue him.
Youth arrested for posting girl’s obscene pix
Jajpur: Police have arrested a youth in Jajpur district on the charge of posting morphed vulgar and obscene photographs of a girl on Facebook. The accused of the Danagadi area under the Jajpur Road police limits had sent a marriage proposal to the girl’s family, but the victim’s father rejected it. The accused took it as humiliation and posted her morphed vulgar photographs on Facebook. The girl’s family filed a complaint with police regarding the incidence. Police registered a case and started probe with arrest of the youth.
Unauthorised college building razed in Phulbani
Phulbani: The Kandhamal district administration demolished the building of the KB HIST College near the Kandhamal Stadium here on the ground that it was an unauthorised construction. College head Anil Chaudhury did not comment anything about this matter. As per information, no authentic document was there to justify the construction of the building over the plot. The college has no permission from the authorities.
