Paramount win in BBSR Football
Bhubaneswar: Racing from the back Paramount Sporting Club defeated AG Recreation Club by 2-1 goals in the league round match of the 13th Gati Krushna Memorial Div-A Football league at Unit-1 High School Ground here on Monday. AG Recreation Club got the lead in the 3rd minute of the play through a goal by Kishnu Das and maintained the lead by the end of first-half. After the change of sides, Paramount dominated the show, in the 50th minute Ramesh Murmu leveled the score and his-mate Santosh Nayak scored the winning goal in the 80th minute. The officials who conducted the match were Pradeepta Nayak, Susanta Kumar Mishra, Srikrushna Patnaik and Rajat Kumar Mallick as referee. In the league round match on Tuesday, KISS School will meet Bir Birsa Youth Association.
Tata Kalinganagar win Vyasa Media Cup
Jajpur Road: The two-day Vyasa Media Cup concluded here on Sunday in which Kalinganagar Tata Steel team became the champions defeating Sattar-11, Sukinda by seven wickets. In the final match, Sattar-11 scored 69 runs in the stipulated 12 overs by losing three wickets. On the other hand, Tata Steel scored the required 73 runs losing three wickets. On the last ball Manoj Mohanty of the Tata team hit a boundary to ensure a win for his team in a thrilling match. The tournament was organised by Vyasanagar Press Forum at NC High School ground here in which eight teams participated. The tournament was dedicated to scribe Rabindra Rout, the founder member of the forum who died of cardiac arrest recently. The prize giving ceremony was presided over by the president of the Forum Abhay Kumar Pati in which general secretary Udayanath Khandai . Korei MlA Akash Das Nayak, Vyasanagar Municipality Chairperson Sabita Rout , former Chairman Rasananda Mohanty joined as guests and distributed the trophy and prizes.
