Vyasa Sarovar Mahotshav begins in Jajpur Road
Jajpur Road: The 11-day historical Vyasa Sarovar Mahotshav began at the Sarowar Maidan here on Thursday evening. The festival was inaugurated by Rural Development Minister Badri Narayan Patra. Jajpur MP Rita Tarai, MlAs Amar Prasad Satapathy, Debasis Nayak, Pramila Mallick and Akash DasNayak, Collector Satya Prakash Mallick and VN Municipality Chairman Sabita Rout joined the inaugural ceremony as guests. About 5,000 people attended the festival. Besides, Ollywood stars and local artists presented song and dance performances. Executive Officer Suresh Chandra Mohanty gave vote of thanks.
Stone laid for Chandikhol MVI building
Jajpur: Badachana MlA Amar Prasad Satpathy laid the foundation-stone for construction of a building of a Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) office and a driving testing track at Chandikhol on Friday. Jajpur Collector Satya Kumar Mallick and many senior officials were present on the occasion. Satpathy highlighted various welfare measures of the State Government. The Collector urged people to follow traffic rules for a safety ride and journey. Among others, Sub-Collectot Maheswar Panigrahi, Chandikhol RTO Prahlad Behera, MVI Bikash Chandra Choudhury, Socilal worker Arabinda Samal, youth leader Suryakanta Parida were present.
