Prasana to lead State Veteran football team
Bhubaneswar: Football Association of Odisha (FAO) has announced on Friday a 14-member State veteran football team to participate in the 8’s International Football Tournament at Kolkata from January 22 to 24, to be organized by East Kolkata Veteran Football Association. Prasana Das will lead the team as captain and in its first match team will take on Bangladesh Veteran on January 22. State Veteran Team: Ananda Nayak, RP Singh, Saroj Das, Sambit Nanda, Sanjib Ray Mohapatra, Prasana Das, Nipendra Das, Sk Sajad, Biswajit Padhiari, Kartik Behera, Mitra Bhanu Dey, Hurdaya Ranjan Singh, T Mohan Rao and Taijud Huda.
NHPl,lIC win in HoD Cup Cricket
Bhubaneswar: An unbeaten 50 balls 70 runs by Syed Ali Zoyeb guided Neelachal Hospital Privet limited (NHPl) to beat Nalco by huge 162 runs in the HoD Cup Cricket Tournament at Kalinga Stadium here on Friday. Batting first, NHPl scored 199/9 for 3 in 20 overs. Syed smashed 70 runs and well supported by Arya Debasish Bhatt 28 balls 47 runs. In reply, NHPl bowlers came into action, Sudipta Swain and Manas Mohapatra scalped three and two wickets respectively and restricted Nalco innings for 37 in 13 overs. Syed of the winning team bagged the man of the match award. In another match of the day, the all-round performance of Prasant Biswal, who scored 51 runs and bagged two wickets and powered lIC to edge out Prameya y 40 runs. Prasant received the man of the match award. Brief Score: lIC 169/8 in 20 overs (Prasant Biswal 51; Karunakar Behera 2/22)beat Prameya 129/9 in 20 overs (Sk Salman 27; Prasant Biswal 2/12) by 40 runs.

Sudipta to officiate internat’l women football
Bhubaneswar: AIFF has been selected Odisha’s women football referee Sudipta Dash as officials for the 12th South Asian Games in the women football event which is schedule to be held at Shillong,Meghalaya from February 5. Sudipta is the first referee of our state who is going to conduct international football match. FAO secretary Sanjay Behera congratulated Dash for her outstanding achievement.
