Hindustan Coca-Cola suspends four workers
Khordha: The Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Private ltd, Khordha unit suspended four employees and issued show-cause notices to three others for allegedly indulging in acts of indiscipline and intimidation. There were instances of gross indiscipline in the factory provoked by a union in recent past to pressurise the management to agree to its demands. There are many instances of indiscipline like boycott of statutory medical checkup, daily shop floor meetings and putting up inflammatory posters in the plant premise, said the management. In view of the gravity of situation, a fact-finding inquiry was assigned to a retired judge and he submitted a report based on which disciplinary actions against seven main culprits have been initiated.
Shaheed Dibakar birth anniversary celebrated
Bhubaneswar: The Shaheed Raghu-Dibakar Smruti Sansad (SRDSS) observed Shaheed Dibakar Parida 105th birth anniversary here on Monday. Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Narendra Kumar Swain, former MlA Satya Narayan Pradhan, Prof Baman Parida, Khordha Collector Niranjan Sahoo, Rushi Gumman Singh, Girija Shankar Mohapatra and Anand Chandra Patnaik participated. They garlanded the statue of Shaheed Dibakar. Sansad general secretary Brajabandhu Parida chaired the meeting. The meeting was followed by a Paika Akhada show.
M’hanj Sanskrutika Sansad annual meet on Dec 6
Bhubaneswar: Cultural outfit Mayurbhanj Sanskrutika Sansad will organise its annual conference and friend’ meet programme at the Mayurbhanj Bhawan at IRC Village here on December 6. Sansad general secretary Gokul Chandra Das has urged all members of the body to attend the function to make it successful.
