R’kela Rotary installation ceremony held Rourkela:
The fourth installation ceremony of the Rotary Club of Rourkela Steel City was held at the club here on Tuesday. RSP Director In-charge (Medical and Health Services) Dr AK Singh joined the event as chief guest and lauded efforts of the club for doing projects on sanitation and safe drinking water. On the occasion, Madhusudan Saha was elected as the club president. Club outgoing president Munmun Saha was present. Club outgoing secretary Archana Mohanty read out a report of the club activities and handed over the club charter to new secretary Putul Rahul. Among others, Rotarians Dr Anjana Maitra and Deepak Gupta spoke.
N’rangpur RI held taking bribe
Nabarangpur: Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday arrested Revenue Inspector (RI) Akshay Kumar Sahoo of Dangarbheja village in Nabarangpur district for demanding and accepting bribe. The RI demanded the bribe of Rs 500 from one Hari Bhatra of Pitakumulu village under Tentulikhunti police station for expediting enquiry report for issuance of birth certificates of the latter’s two sons. later, a trap was laid and Sahoo was caught red-handed while receiving the bribe.
Hearing impaired camp held at Phulbani
Phulbani: A hearing impaired camp was organised at the Apang Kendra here on Thursday. The camp held by the Aaina, an NGO, was inaugurated by CDMO Dr Jatin Patnaik in the presence of Dr Jayasankar Panda of Olatpur, Aaina member Pradyumna Kumar Rath, labour Department’s Sujata Mahapatra and Apanga Kendra’s Dr Akshaya Panda. People from Tikabali, Raikia, Khajuripada, G Udayagiri and Phulbani and Harabhanga of Boudh district attended the camp. They were provided treatment and hearing-impaired machines.
