Pl bags five State Safety Awards
Paradip: The Paradeep Phosphates limited (PPl) received five State Safety Awards, conferred by the Directorate of the Factories and Boilers, in different categories for the year 2011, 2012 and 2013 at a function held in Bhubaneswar recently. PPl Senior Manager (Safety) Nihar Kanti Rout received the Best Safety Officer of the State award for 2011 from Mines and labour Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallick in the presence of Principal Secretary G Srinibas and labour Commissioner Shalini Pandit.
G’jam labour leader’s death anniv observed
Brahmapur: The first death anniversary of noted labour leader Subhas Parida was observed at Naveen Bhavan here on Wednesday. Attending the event as chief guest, Brahmapur MlA Dr Ramesh Chandra Chyau Patnaik said all workers should be inspired by the ideals of Parida. The MlA later unveiled a souvenir Sangramra Karnadhar, which depicts the true struggle of Parida, his integrity, transparency and organisational skills. The event was chaired by Subhas Parida Smruti Committee chairman Rabi Rath. Over a hundred of members from various labour and workers’ organisations participated in the programme.
