Radha Raman win in FAO 1st Div Football league
Bhubaneswar: Radha Raman Club defeated Sports Authority of India (SAI) Cuttack by 2-0 goals in the super league round match of the FAO 1st Division Football league at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Tuesday. Emanuel Ime of the winning team scored double goals in the 29th and 58th minute respectively. In another match of the day, Independent Club got a walk over from Odisha Police. The officials who conducted the match included PK Pal, Sujit Patra, Subrat Purohit and Bhim Chhettri as referees. Radha Raman Club would meet Radha Gobinda Club in the super league round match on Tuesday.
Odisha beats Tripura in Thimmappiah Cricket
Bhubaneswar: Odisha defeated Tripura by eight wickets in their four-day-long match of the Dr (Capt) K Thimmappiah Memorial Cricket Tournament, which concluded at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangaluru on Monday. In reply to Odisha’s first innings score of 321 runs, Tripura bundle out for 119 runs in the first innings the credit goes to skipper Samanatry who scored 88 runs and scalped three wickets. Batting in the second innings Tripura scored a respectable 256 runs. But the 54 runs lead was not enough to stop Odisha to script victory. In the second innings, Skipper Samantary and opener Govind Poddar scored unbeaten 26 runs each and guided the team to reach the winning target.
