Motorcyclist dies in mishap in Jajpur
Jajpur: A 33-year-old person was killed when a truck collided with the motorcycle which he was driving at Kadei Chhack on NH-5 under the Badachana police station in Jajpur district on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Prakash Kumar Mallick of Ahamadapur. The truck driver managed to flee from the spot, said Badachana police station IIC RK Sahoo.
Idols recovered from Brahmani
Jajpur: Idols of a granite bull, a Shiva linga and two Astadhatu snakes were recovered from the river Brahmani near Kalanda village under the Dharmasala block in Jajpur district on Saturday. Some locals while taking bath in the river came across the idols. However, it was difficult to ascertain the period to which the idols belong until Archaeological Department officials, who have been informed of the findings, examine them. Villagers have kept the idols in their Tarini temple.
