A constable, who is working in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), was arrested and forwarded to court here on Wednesday for allegedly torturing his wife for dowry.
According to reports, Gagan Bihari Nayak (37), a native of Angul district, had married Padmalaya Behera (26) of the same district in 2008 and the couple has two daughters. Nayak has been residing with his family in CISF Colony here. As per the FIR lodged at the Mahila Police station by Nayak’s wife on Tuesday, she was being regularly tortured by her husband demanding a bike.
