Merchant’s body found in market in JSpur
Jagatsinghpur: The body of a potato merchant, Sudarshan Sahoo (34), hailing from Nabapata was recovered from the Kendal Hat market complex in the wee hours on Wednesday. The deceased was found hanging outside a thatched house in the market complex with a napkin around his neck. It appeared that he was killed and the murders wanted to show it as a case of suicide. A case has been registered at the Jagatsinghpur police station.
Youth killed in road mishap in JSpur
Jagatsinghpur: One Deepak Rout (27) from Kalio in the Balikuda area died in a road accident at Kania Chowk on the Jagatsinghpur-Machhgaon road on Tuesday. The deceased was travelling by his bike which hit a roadside tube-well. He was working in a private company in Chennai and had returned to his village two days ago.
Angul VlW caught taking bribe
Angul: A VlW was arrested by the Vigilance for taking bribe of Rs 4,500 from a villager in Angul district to pass the final bill for his Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) house. Sarbeswar Pani, VlW-cum-Executive Officer of Hariharpur gram panchayat under Kaniha block was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe from one Dayanidhi Das of Rangapur as per his previous demand.
J’suguda Amin held for taking bribe
Jharsuguda: An Amin was arrested by the Vigilance on Tuesday for accepting bribe of Rs 3,000 from one Tuleswari Nayak of Sahaspur village under laikera police station in Jharsuguda district to submit the inquiry report in a mutation case in the laikera tehsil. Kumarmani Chand was caught red-handed in his office room while accepting the bribe from Nayak as per his previous demand.
