The police found 20 human skulls in a deserted house in Sidhamahavir under the Kumbharpara police station limits on the Saturday.
According to locals, one Manu Baba was using the house located in a busy area as his ashram. Hundreds of his devotees were visiting the ashram. Manu Baba left the ashram since long and his address is not known. In the wake of recent incidents involving Babas, some locals informed the police about the ashram and storage of skulls. Police seized the skulls and would send them to Bhubaneswar for forensic test to ascertain their status.
local residents said the Baba was practicing tantra and many people were staying in his ashram for observance of tantrik pujas. They demanded a thorough probe into the incident and legal action against Manu Baba.
last year, Konark police had recovered about 20 human skulls from the river bed of Kusabhadra near the liakhia bridge and had sent them for forensic test to Bhubaneswar laboratory. Till date the finding has not been made public.
