PNS
The process for e-evaluation of annual Plus-Two Science papers began in the State on Tuesday with the scanning of the papers. The scanning of the five Science papers, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and Zoology, commenced at the Nabakrushna Choudhury Centre for Development Studies premises near the head office of the Council for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) here.
CHSE Chairman Prof Basudev Chhatoi told the media that the council has decided to complete the scanning of the answer sheets by March 25. About four lakh answer sheets of 94,952 students would be scanned during the period. Stating that the Government has roped in the TCS for scanning, uploading and downloading of answer sheets, he said that presently there are 47 scanners at the scanning centre the number of which would be increased to 100 subsequently.
“After the scanned copies are uploaded in the main server, they will be sent to the servers at 40 evaluation centres, where the chief examiners will download the papers and distribute them among the examiners after sorting them out,” Chhatoi said. He said the CHSE this year has engaged 4,000 examiners for evaluation of which those having no experience in e-evaluation would be imparted training in the first two days.
“We are confident that the e-evaluation this year would be error-free as the calculation of marks would be done by computers,” he added.
