Of the 75 Covid-19 cases reported on Sunday, two new cases were detected in Bhubaneswar. With this, the total cases rose to 88 in the capital city.
The two cases were reported from home quarantine in Patia area under the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) limits. The cases included a 40-year-old man and an eight-year-old girl. Both belong to a family with a travel history to New Delhi.
Following the detection of the two new cases, further contact tracing by the BMC is underway. The primary contacts and nearby houses are being quarantined, sanitised and would be under active surveillance, the BMC said in a tweet.
With this, the total number of coronavirus cases in Bhubaneswar rose to 88, of which 34 cases are active. While 51 patients have recovered from the disease, three deaths have been reported so far in the city.
