The death toll due to Japanese Encephalitis in Malkangiri district mounted to 60 with two more deaths on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Ganesh Bisoi (5) of Majhiguda in Mathili block and Rina Soem (3) of Bhajaguda under Padia block.
According to sources, Ganesh succumbed to the deadly virus while undergoing treatment at the ICU of the Malkangiri District Headquarters Hospital and Rina died while being treated at in Bhadranchlam in Andhra Pradesh.
Notably, Rina had been discharged from the Malkangiri DHH after being cured recently.
The toll due to the deadly disease climbed to 60 in last 41 days.
