The Ganjam district administration on Thursday sealed an illegal shelter home, ‘Blessing for Boys Hostel, in Bijay Vihar here and rescued 34 children.
The team comprising District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), Child Welfare Committee members and revenue officials raided the shelter home. DCPO Sudodh Sadangi said that the children were presented before the CWC and later handed over to their parents. Besides, the team also visited another shelter home named ‘Grace Homes’ in Khodasingi and rescued children. DCPO Sadangi said action would be taken against culprits after investigation.
Earlier, the administration had identified six illegal shelter homes in Chhatrapur and Brahmapur of them three have been sealed. Now, closure notices have been issued to close down six others in Brahmapur.
