Two persons, including a student, were injured at the Kamakhyanagar college in the district on Saturday as unidentified miscreants hurled bombs at them.
The incident took place at around 11 am when a college student along with five outsiders brandished guns and allegedly hurled bombs at Sangram Nayak and Sanjeeb Nayak.
Sanjeeb had come to the college to drop Sangram, who is a student of the college.
Both the injured were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital. later, Sanjeeb alleged that it was an attempt to kidnap them.
Police suspected that the incident could be the fallout of a rivalry ahead of the students’ union elections. However, the college Principal said the reason could be ascertained only after a detailed probe.
“We are not sure who is behind the incident. But the truth will come out once the investigation is over,” said college Principal Arabindakant Rai.
