Prof Lal said, “The State of Odisha is going to complete a hundred years in 2036. We need to give more emphasis on the developmental excellence.”

Speaking on the occasion, former Chief Secretary Patnaik emphasized on issues like tourism, agriculture, education, entrepreneurship or start-ups and how a new history for the State can be created in the 100 years.

“The State of Odisha is going to complete a hundred years in 2036. It is necessary to prepare a Vision Document for our beloved State in which we would like to present a picture of Odisha as to where we would like to see her when she completes a century of her formation. It is an aspirational dream which would serve as a beacon to all of us to achieve heights of performance in the remaining years of the century,” he said.

The workshop will deliberate on six different themes around which the growth story of the State will be scripted, including agriculture, education, social issues like women empowerment, migration, mal-nutrition, etc., MSME, start-ups, and tourism.
