To contain further spread of oronavirus, parts of Malpada in Ward-15 and parts of Ward-2 in Balangir town were declared as micro containment zones by the Sub-Collector on Thursday night.
Moreover, in a significant step, the district administration has decided to perform the cremation of the body of any person suspected to have died of Covid-19. Besides, it would provide a vehicle to transport the body.
For this, one needs to inform the local block administration, Teshildar or Executive Officer of municipality or NAC if it is suspected that a person died of Covid and there is hesitancy by his relatives in conducting cremation. Also in a bid to reduce crowding at hospitals, the district administration has started telemedicine facility and advised people not to visit the hospitals unless it is urgent.
The district on Friday reported 458 positive cases and, surprisingly, a large number of cases were detected in rural areas.
