A total of water dues of Rs 2143.716 crore remains outstanding on 181 industrial units and companies by March 31, 2016, informed Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in the State Assembly on Monday.
In a written response to a question of BJP MlA Dilip Ray, the Chief Minister said the outstanding water dues include Rs 1888.646 crore lying uncollected due to cases pending in various courts.
In a related question of Ray, Finance Minister Pradeep Kumar Amat said a total amount of Rs 2757.25 crore towards entry
tax, power tariff, forest development tax and excise tax have remained uncollected due to stay orders of various courts.
