The Covid-19 death toll crossed the 1,700-mark and surged to 1,704 with 17 more patients succumbing to the virus in seven districts of the State on Thursday.
Five persons each died in Sundargarh district, four in Puri, three in Khordha (Bhubaneswar), two in Angul and one each in Kalahandi, Mayurbhanj and Dhenkanal, the Health and Family Welfare Department said.
Meanwhile, with the detection of 644 new positive cases in the 30 districts and the State pool, the total tally mounted to 3,16,645. Of the new cases, 369 were from quarantine.
