A 15-year-old boy allegedly raped a seven-year-old girl in Deogaon under the Bonai police station in the district on Tuesday. The police have detained the accused minor and his father and are conducting further investigation into the matter.
Sources said the minor girl, whose father works as an auto-rickshaw driver, had gone to Bonai tehsil office with her mother and brother in the afternoon.
As the minor girl’s mother had to stay back at the tehsil office to finish her work, she asked the boy, who lives in the neighbourhood, to drop the girl at home.
The girl’s mother reached home at 2 pm and found her missing. She went to the house of the minor boy and asked his family to drop her daughter at home. later, the boy dropped the girl near her home.
The girl’s mother noticed that she was unable to walk properly and inquired about what happened to her. later, she narrated her ordeal. She said the boy took her to his house and committed the crime.
The girl’s mother immediately informed her husband. The couple approached the Bonai police station and lodged a complaint in the connection.
The police conducted the medical examination of the accused and the victim. later, the police detained the minor boy and his father.
