A total of 13 of 86 large industrial houses that had signed MoUs with the State Government to establish industries during the last 20 years since the year 2000 have withdrawn their proposals.
Industries Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra informed this in the State Assembly in response to a question of BJD MLA Prafulla Samal on Friday. The firms which withdrew proposals include Posco and Arcellor Mittal.
The Minister also informed that 45 of the 86 firms had started production partially and fully and of them eight steel companies have stalled production.
