Ten persons were injured, seven of them seriously, at Srikanthapur village under Pipili police station, when the crackers they were preparing went off on Sunday.
According to reports, the village youth were preparing special crackers using bamboo pipes in a farm house. The crackers were to be used in the Patua Yatra of Goddess Ankulei of the village. Suddenly, one cracker burst which in turn triggered bursting of all the prepared ones. The injured villagers were rushed to a local hospital, while seven serious were admitted into various hospitals in Bhubaneswar. Pipili police registered a case.
