1 lakh BJP supporters to gherao Assembly in Nov

PNS

The BJP would gherao the State Assembly with “one lakh supporters” in November to protest against the callousness and inefficiency of the BJD Government.

“Scams and corruptions are ruling the roost in the Naveen Patnaik dispensation. The BJP will highlight the issues like chit fund scam, involvement of BJD MlAs and MPs in the chit fund scam, irregularities in ration card distribution, lack of doctors in State and deteriorating law and order in the State,” said BJP State in-charge Arun Singh here at a Press conference.

“To wake up the inefficient Government, the BJP will stage demonstrations in all district headquarters from September 15 to 20. We will gherao the Assembly with one lakh supporters in November. From here, a countdown for the fall of the BJD Government will start,” said Singh.

Singh claimed that the party has strengthened itself at the grassroots level.

He also came down heavily on the Naveen Patnaik Government for attack on Central Ministers.

“Here, Central Ministers are being attacked. BJP workers are being booked under Section 307 IPC and sent to jail. Even our party workers are being kicked about. This is highly condemnable,” said Singh, adding that women are not safe in Odisha.

This apart, the saffron party would organise a ‘Yaad Karo Kurbani’ programme from August 9 to August 30, in which Union Ministers would take part at various places which had played an important role in the freedom struggle, Singh added.
