On the National De-Worming Day on August 8, medicines would be given to more than one crore 42 lakh children aged between one and 19 years in the State.
This was stated at a meeting of the Health and Family Welfare Department held under the chairmanship of its Secretary Dr Pramod Kumar Meherda here on Friday.
Dr Meherda said the children who would not be able to take the medicines on August 8 would be given it on August 16 to cover the remaining children.
He informed that there are 1, 42, 90,491 children in the State aged between 1 and 19 years which includes 35, 54,218 children aged between 1 and 5 years and 1,07,36,273 children aged between 6 and 19 years.
He said the drive would be undertaken with the help of different departments like School and Mass Education, Women and Children Welfare, Urban Development, Rural Development, SC and ST Development, Panchayati Raj and Water Resources.
