"All efforts will be made for the upliftment of the Banjara Samaj. Our Samaj is leading in every field but there are some evils which will be removed," said national secretary of Banjara Seva Sangh from Delhi Subhash Chauhan in a State level conference at Brajrajnagar on Sunday.
Odisha State president Tularam Nayak presided.
"In Odisha we have been placed under the category of ST, in Chhattisgarh, OBC and sometimes SC which is wrong and we will demand a rule for a uniform status besides for education of women of the community," said Nayak.
The programme was coordinated by Lalit Nayak and Laksham Nayak, while vote of thanks was delivered by the State executive chairman Kailash Nayak.
A special programme was organised for counselling of children and education of women. Men and women of the community who excelled in different spheres were honoured.
