The Higher Education Department on Monday directed all degree colleges to allow students for admission into Plus 3 courses without original certificates. In a letter, department asked Principals of all degree colleges to allow the students for admission with self-attested downloaded mark-sheets and undertakings.
“Due to Covid-19 pandemic, there is disruption in supplying of original certificates, mark-sheets, migration certificates, etc., to students passing out from CHSE during 2019-20.
As a result, they may fail to show original certificates for verification at time of admission,” said letter directing the colleges to take the following measures:
The downloaded mark-sheets with self-attestation may be accepted by colleges/universities with 5-year integrated courses for verification.
Colleges/universities should not insist students to handover original Migration Certificates, passing from CHSE, other boards such as CBSE/ICSE, etc. Students shall submit an undertaking to Principal/Admission-in Charge to show original certificates and mark-sheets within 12 days from date of admission for first selection students and 5 days for second selection students and for migration certificates/caste certificates/OHPH certificates, one month from date of admission, failing which, their admission shall be cancelled.
Students shall not be debarred from taking admission for want of any original certificates including caste/PHOH (PwD) certificates.
If any student fails to report for admission due to any reason, parents/guardians/any authorized person by student may be allowed to report for admission, on behalf of student. ln such situation, they can also give undertaking for student.
But if college authority feels thatdownloaded mark-sheets/caste certificates/OHPH certificates as forged ones, then they may not allow them for admission.
