‘Use Lingaraj Vihar open spaces as per plan’

The Lingaraj Vihar Community Welfare Association (LVCWA) has urged the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) to make the open spaces at the Lingaraj Vihar housing complex encroachment-free and use the spaces for the purpose, earmarked in the plan layout, at the earliest.

“Even as 17 years have passed since the housing project completed, the BDA has neither executed sale-cum-lease deed with individual allotees nor used open spaces as per the approved layout plan. Now outsiders have encroached upon the area, creating troubles for resident,” alleged LVCWA president Devendra Kumar Nanda.

In a recent development, a group of vested interest people, mostly outsiders, grabbed one of the organised open spaces on the plea of playing volleyball. But they are engaged in various fraudulent activities. The outsiders have also not taken permission of the registered Association of Lingaraj Vihar (LVCWA).

“This has caused a serious problem for the safety and security of the residents, including women members. Though we have already informed the BDA in writing about the encroachment and illegal activities, no step has been taken,” lamented Nanda.

The association has requested BDA to immediately develop all the organised open spaces for the purposed made in approved layout plan so that residents can get facilities promised by the BDA.
