PNS

The Manav Adhikar Surakhya Manch’s Ghanta Yatra (cymbal rally) demanding a permanent solution to different problems of the MKCG Medical College Hospital entered its 69th phase here on Monday.

The Manch submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik demanding functioning of the super-specialty department and shelving the Public Private Partnership (PPP) project in the hospital.

The members said that the 300-bedded super-specialty department, which was constructed at a cost of Rs 56 crore, is turning to be a haunted house.

Manch coordinator Abani Kumar Gaya, Bhaskar Sahu, Purna Chandra Maharana, Rejendra Dalabehera, Pravat Nayak, Bijay Chandra Bisoyi, Laxmi Narayan Rout and Bansidhar Bhuya also met hospital Superintendent Dr Charan Panda. Dr Panda assured that he would discuss the matter with the higher authorities and take action in the matter.
