The oldest traditional cultural event Ravan Chhaya (Ramayana) of Pallahara block got Central recognition, announced Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at Janasambad virtual rally in Pallahara assembly constituency here recently.
PM Narendra Modi is putting emphasis on culture, religion, art and traditional cultural activities. The Ravan Chhaya of Pallahara has already earned fame in foreign countries like the US, Japan etc. But it was not listed in the Centre's cultural list. On the special efforts of former MLA Pallahara as well as Central Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the Ravan Chhaya got recognition, Pradhan said in the virtual rally.
Noyably, Ravan Chhaya was founded by late Kathi Das and later on by Kolha Charana Sahoo of Odosha in Khamar area.
BJP leader like district president Dileswar Pradhan, vice president Tanmaya Sahoo and PRI members were present on the occation.
