If the State Government had wanted, it could have prevented the recent floods. But the Government, like the weather office, only provided warnings and advisories through Press releases and washed it hands, alleged the BJP on Thursday.
There was no match in the statements of the Water Resources Department, the concerned Minister or the Special Relief Commissioner. The Agriculture Department said the damage assessment report would be available within seven days and the Chief Minister’s compensation would be paid within 15 days. Due to constant pressure by the BJP, the Government hurriedly prepared a damage assessment report, said BJP State general secretary Lekhashri Samantsinghar.
The compensation of Rs 128 crore for damages is not based on factual assessment. The Government should publish a Whitepaper with the names of the affected people panchayat and block wise. The delay and partiality in providing relief is unfortunate, said she.
