‘No role for Bijay in BJP’s K’pada ZP poll feat’

The Kendrapara district BJP unit lambasted Bijay Mohapatra following his resignation from the party. District president Duryodhan Sahu in a Press meet said that Mohapatra was indulging in anti-party activities and rubbished that his quitting would have any impact on the party’s prospect in the coming elections.

“Bijay Mohapatra had lost his popularity and was an opportunist. He used to hop from a one party to the other, if his self interest was affected. It is purely unfortunate that in last nine years in BJP, Mohapatra failed to visit all the nine blocks in the district. He does not have capacity to win a block chairman leave alone winning an Assembly seat,” Sahu said.

Sahu sought to dispel a perception that the BJP acquired 10 Zilla Parisad seats in Kendrapada due to Mohapatra. “The reality is Bijay Mohapatra did not concentrate on the ZP seats, expect a couple. He had never visited to the zilla Parisad areas nor did he campaign,” told Sahu.

Sahu stated that he had sacked Mohapatra from the District Working Committee’s membership post for his anti party activities about a year back.
