A state-of-the-art ‘Cuttack Netaji Bus Terminal’ (CNBT) at Khannagar here would be of international standard, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik after laying foundation-stone of the project on Subhas Chandra Bose’s 125th birth anniversary on Saturday.
The bus terminal would be developed on 12 acres of land belonging to the Cuttack Municipal Corporation at a cost of Rs 65 crore. It would have motifs and paintings on Netaji’s life and sacrifice for the country.
The terminal would have a three-storied building, regular bus bays to accommodate 180 buses at a time, space for local and Mo Bus services, a bus repair workshop and a special parking lot for four-wheelers and three-wheelers.
The terminal would also have an integrated information management system for the benefit of passengers.
The idea behind the proposed bus terminal is to accommodate the increasing number of buses and ensure modern facilities for passengers as the existing one in Badambadi area remains crowded all the time.
