Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday hit out at the Modi Government and the BJP and urged the people not to re-elect the BJP at the Centre in the 2024 general elections.
He said the Modi Government has been constantly weakening the Constitution since it came to power in 2014 and there is a fear that Modi shall not hold any Parliament election further if elected again. He further stated that the Modi-Gurantee is nothing but a bunch of lies as the Union Government has neither fulfilled its promise of giving jobs to two crore unemployed youth every year nor Rs 15 lakh to every bank account. It hasn't recovered black money either.
To silence the opposition and INDIA alliance, the Union Government is using CBI and ED and even expelling many Opposition MPs from Parliament sessions, Kharge charged.
He lauded the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who has been continuously raising the issues of farmers, unemployed youths, backward classes and common people. He said the BJP is working for the rich. Most pertinently, Kharge alleged that the Central Government is not filling up vacant jobs as it would empower the SCs, STs and OBCs.
Attacking the Odisha’s ruling BJD, Kharge said the Naveen Government is not working towards the welfare of farmers, youths and poor people. The 24-year-old State Government has not been able to irrigate 35% of farmers’ land, set up cold storage in each block, give government jobs to stop migration of youths and empower the backward classes.
The massive “Odisha Banchao Samabesh” addressed by Kharge was chaired by PCC president Sarat Pattanayak under the supervision of AICC-in-Charge for Odisha Dr Ajoy Kumar.
