The BJP on Friday accused the State Government of using its Contingency Fund for gaining political mileage.
The party MLAs met Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal at the Raj Bhavan here and submitted a memorandum in this regard. They alleged that the State Government infringed upon Constitutional provisions to “meet political ends”.
“Odisha Government increased the contingency fund from Rs 400 crore to Rs 1,400 crore to spend the amount for the purpose of Kalia Yojana and Madhu Babu Pension Yojana prior to General Elections-2019 to gain the political end,” the memorandum alleged.
The MLAs sought intervention of the Governor in the matter and action against the Government.
