PNS

In a letter, Das has suggested that chargesheet be submitted within 15 days of FIR and time limit fixed for judgment in rape cases and the rapists be given death punishment in full public view.

The rape victims should be examined by an expert committee headed by female gynaecologists at Sub-Divisional Hospital (SDH) or District Headquarters Hospital. The names of witnesses, if they wish, should be kept secret. Their statement should be recorded in the presence of Class I Magistrates.

Capital punishment should be given to women who would lodge a false FIR against a woman.

Fruitful moral education should be included in school and college syllabuses.

Women conductors should be appointed in all night buses and special buses should be introduced exclusively for women. Girls and wome should be advised to wear gentle dresses.

Measures should be taken to ensure that cities should not be overcrowded as per town planning norms.

License of drunken bus, taki and auto drivers and conductors should be cancelled if found guilty. Drunken passengers should not be allowed to travel in public transport. Vulgar films, TV serials and internet pictures should be banned.
