‘BJD, BJP terrified due to Cong’s popularity’

PNS

People throughout the country have reposed their faith on the Congress and its ideology. The BJD and the BJP are panicked because of this, said State Congress president Niranjan Patnaik in a statement on Monday.

In Karnataka, the BJP tried to form Government without having required support and subsequently failed. The BJP got a befitting reply in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, where people supported the Congress. In these States, the Congress Governments implemented the manifestos promises for farmers and common people in letter and spirit. The farmers got benefit out of farm loan waiver and MSP hike.

This was a major cause of worry for the BJD Government, which announced the KALIA scheme. How land would be irrigated, how farmers would get quality seeds, pesticides and remunerative prices for their produces were not taken care of. Rather, the BJD Government chose to transfer small amounts of money to farmers' accounts, which is totally a failed concept, alleged Patnaik.

He said last week, the Paribartan Sankalp Samabesh organised by the Congress at Bhubaneswar was a huge success.

Lakhs of people from all over the State attended party president Rahul Gandhi's meeting. This has also created a tremor among the BJD and the BJP. Gandhi promised to pay Rs 2,600 MSP for paddy and farm loan waiver within ten days of the party coming to power in Odisha. Now, there is nothing left for the BJD and the BJP.

The farmers and people of Odisha have understood the game plan of BJD and BJP, said the PCC chief.
