The Utkal Sammilani on Wednesday termed Puri MP Pinaki Misra’s Bharat Ratna demand for former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik as ‘justified’ and ‘appropriate’.
“The Puri MP recalled Bijubahu’s contribution to protection of Jammu and Kashmir in the Lok Sabha at a very right moment. His demand for Bharat Ratna to the legendary leader is highly justified,” said Sammilani Mancheswar Industrial Estate Branch president Dillip Dashsharma in a statement.
He said Bijubabu is not only a Ratna (jewel) of Bharat but also a Ratna of the entire world. “Bijubabu has been honoured by many countries for his gallantry and contribution to those countries. His dead body had been draped with national flags of three countries, which is an honour no other Indian has got yet. If Bharat Ratna is conferred on him posthumously, the glory of the award will be enhanced,” he opined.
He said the Utkal Sammalini has placed the demand many times.
