Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday inaugurated eight new branches of the HDFC Bank at different places in the State through videoconferencing. The new branches’ opening was timed to help facilitate the banking services during the Covid-19 pandemic. The branches will generate over 100 jobs. Of new branches, five are in Khordha district, one each in Sudargarh, Sambalpur and Kendrapada districts. The CM said the launching of eight HDFC Bank branches in the pandemic situation would be another step forward in financial inclusion of the unbanked people.

“Odisha today is following a comprehensive and well-diversified economic path. Our social outreach initiatives have made us a model State in economic inclusion of almost all sections of the society. The expansion of banking networks will be very helpful to our pro-people initiatives,” he said. HDFC Bank has now network of 150 branches and 276 ATMs. Country Head of Retail Banking for HDFC Bank Arvind Vohra and Brach Banking Head Sandeep Kumar were present.
