The villagers of Gadshankar Dunguripali who are going to be affected by the Lower Suktel Irrigation project and earlier opposed the project, now have agreed to cooperate with the project work.
Balangir MLA Narasingh Mishra said on Wednesday that he had visited the Gadshaknar Dunguripali village and listened to their grievances. “The villagers told me that while they are cooperating with the district administration, the district administration is not taking any steps to address their grievances,” Mishra said.
“A lot of grievances of people would have to be addressed before displacement. I have received petitions from the people and I shall take up these issues with the district Collector to sort them out,” he stated.
Among others, Balangir Sub Collector Kumar Nagbhushan, ADM Mahendra Mahapatra and other officials including SDPO Tofan Bag and Balangir Sadar Police station IIC Srikant Sahu were present in Gadshankar Dunguripali.
