‘4th-phase battle against Covid most crucial’

The fourth phase is the most crucial in Odisha’s fights against Covid-19. It would decide the future of the State as it is a battle between life and livelihood, said State Government Chief Spokesperson on Covid-19 Subroto Bagchi on Saturday.

“Return of foreign returnees was a challenge in the first phase while the Nizamuddin returnees and migrant returnees were another major cause of concern in the second and third phases, respectively,” he said.

“In the fourth phase, over five lakh migrants have returned to the State so far. In next 15 days, more people might get infected from the virus,” Bagchi said.

With the beginning of monsoon this month, chances of people being infected with cold and flu would increase. As the Chief Minister has earlier said, people should become more careful, take proper precautions and stay indoors, he said.

“We have to keep ourselves, our families and the society away from the deadly virus,” he said.

“In the first three phases of the fight against Covid-19 in Odisha, the Government was the main crusader; but in the fourth phase, every individual is a fighter,” Bagchi added.
