Panic prevailed after a headless body of an unidentified woman was found at a Goragoan village near regional sports centre of SAI stadium under Ratibad police station area on Sunday. On the receipt of the information a police team rushed to the spot and after preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem.
Police said injury marks on the body were found however, since the body was found without head it hard to establish the identity of the deceased. All the nearby police stations have been informed regarding the body. The woman might be in the age group of 30 years and would work in the nearby farms. The injury marks suggested that she had struggled to rescue herself. Possibility of sexual assault could not be ruled out, a police officer investigating the case said.
The matter came into fore when a youth identified as Chain Singh who lived in the nearby area spotted the body near SAI hostel and informed the locals and subsequently police were informed. The police have registered a case under Section 302 of the IPC and have started further investigation. Police suspected that head of the deceased was intentionally disposed at different place to hide the identity.
Police said that the death of the deceased occurred around 48 hours ago which strengthened the possibility of the killing of deceased at some other place and later dumped the body in the village.
